Don't Have An Online Backup Plan in Place?

We all know that maintaining a backup process for our important data is crucial if we want to have some security in knowing that our work will not virtually disappear one day if there is a hardware failure.  There are many storage options including external hard drives, Flash drives, physical media (DVD, Blu-Ray), and online storage.  This post will expand on the benefits of using an online backup service.

Many online backup services offers visitors a free trial of their service by giving away 2GB or up to 5GB of free backup storage to anyone that wants it.  This is to wet the appetite of users and to show off what their service can provide for those that need a larger storage space.  Prices usually range from a few dollars a month up to $50 a year for 100GB of storage space.

Many providers offer an included widget that you would use to easily transfer the files you want to backup onto your remote ‘cloud’ storage space.  This makes it easy for anyone to backup their digital photos, videos, documents, etc..  Also most provide an automatic scheduling option where you simple choose what folders/directories to backup on a regular basis.  Say you have your My Photos directory scheduled to backup everyday at midnight.  Any new photo you add to this directory during the day will automatically backed up to your online account at that time.  This makes backing up files not only easy but convienent.  To find out what online backup service will be best for your needs please visit our friends at WPDesigner where they have reviewed online backup services in an easy to read side-by-side grid to help you decide what would be best.

Thank you for raising this question! Windows users can check out CloudBerry Backup to backup data to cloud storage powered by Amazon S3. It is onetime fee and the rest what you pay for Amazon S3. Besides, there is no proprietary data format and you can access your data using other Amazon S3 tools. You can download the trial at http://www.cloudberrylab.com/amazon-s3-microsoft-azure-google-storage-online-backup.aspx
