Sony announced the first Elevated Standard (ES)
Blu-ray player
, the BDP-S2000ES. The new player has basically the same features as the
BDP-S500
(HDMI 1.3, 1080P/60, 24p, 7.1 channel Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS=HD1) and adds a separate audio and video boards said to minimize potential interference problems and a rigid bracket to minimize vibrations.
But an important question remains with this player: Does it worth the $1300 retail price? Reviews might answer that in the near future. Stay tuned!
Sony said that the new
Blu-ray player should be available soon.
