Satellite radio rockstars Sirius XM is planning on releasing an iPhone/iPod Touch App that will allow users of the devices the ability to stream Sirius XM programming through their devices.
The Sirius iPhone App would be available to the 19 million Sirius XM
subscribers for a nominal fee and to the 7 million iPhone users in the US. Since the radio
service works through Wifi it will also be available on the iPod Touch.
An important factor for the success of the Sirius XM radio on the iPhone will be the pricing model.
Sirius XM Radio sold 40% stake recently to Liberty Media to avoid Bankruptcy. SIRI trading ended up .01 for .20 ending Mar 13, 2009..
