DATA RECOVERY: The Necessity of Back-Up Files

With the advent of the computer age, our generation is inevitably linked with computer technology. Whether we like it or not, computers loom everywhere.   They run and facilitate every industry. From the train we take to work, the credit card to which we charge our payments, ATM cards, banks, electric power facilities, plants, etc.—name it and computers will come to mind.

It is truly important that we take all necessary steps to ensure that computer data is well protected. Remember the ‘I-love-you’ virus? I’m sure more than a few of you remember that day. Ironically, released on the eve of Valentine’s Day, this virus wreaked havoc to the world’s most complex, protected and highly developed computer systems. Banks and large companies (even organizations like the UN, Pentagon and FBI) were no match against the venom of this virus.   And was just one virus.   Virus though, is not the number one reason for hard disk failure. Believe it or not, it is the avoidable user error.

Before we talk about the avoidable user error, there are a couple of things we cannot leave out. We can’t forget about natural disaster, and electro-magnetic failures. Have you ever come home from work or the store and your digital clocks are blinking, and everything has been knocked out by the power? Did you leave your computer on? Was everything okay? Maybe the next time you come home you won’t be so lucky.

For any computer user, the word ‘hard disk failure’ is a nightmare!   No one would want to be in this position.   The amount of time, money and effort spent in the resulting data recovery is simply not worth it.   To prevent this situation, one of the most important points every computer user should bear in mind is to always back up computer data.

Roxio Backup My PC has burning features, which will help with your filing system to make sure everything is in place. Want to easily archive your irreplaceable photos, videos, in a few simple clicks? How about your music collection? It’s so easy. Drag-and-drop your files or entire folders to back up irreplaceable data to disc. Use the category selection to easily archive your data.

Additionally, it is wise to backup the files you truly need.   Don’t’ backup garbage. It takes up space and is not needed. Using the Backup Wizard, you are guided through choosing whether to back up your entire hard drive or just selected files and folders and then deciding if you want to continually back up everything or just the files that have changed since last time. It is so easy to archive your media in an organized system. The recovery of the data is simple and painless (if you ever need to go through the restoration process).

Scheduling full or partial backups is a snap, and they can be run at any time (using the automated process). Don’t worry—you can always perform a manual backup. With the easy data recovery, you can completely recover your data and applications, in the event of a computer crash, system failure, or other disaster—and easily restore your computer.
