Pull this mini spinner out of your bag
and you're only seconds away from a new cd-rewriter
for any Pentium PC. Just plug it into your parallel
port, PC Card slot, USB port or Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port.
At only 20 ounces this player is incredibly portable.
Plug and play makes it fast to connect. Pack it with
your notebook, or carry it between home and work. Only
backpack has a smart pass-through port (for your printer)
so you never lose your printer when connected to the
parallel port.
Drive performance is dependent on the connectivity and
your computer. When connected via EPP/ECP (parallel),
the cd-rewriter provides up to 8X write, 8X rewrite,
and 8X read speeds; for PC Card Type II, up to 12X write,
10X rewrite, and 12X read; for USB Type I, up to 6X
write, 6X rewrite, and 6X read; and USB 2.0, up to 16X
write, 10X rewrite, and 24X read. The cd-rewriter also
features a typical access time of 130ms (12cm disc 1/3
stroke) and a MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) rating
of 50,000 POH at 20% utilization. Connect your printer
through the drive's Smart pass-through port, and you
are still able to print while the cd-rewriter is connected
to your printer's parallel port.
Overall: 8 out of 10.
