Ah, the build you all were probably waiting for. This is the cheapskates gaming PC. We come in just under the price of a brand new Xbox One! It’s arguably more powerful to boot. Keep in mind the build is missing some features such as a Blu Ray player. But, this is still pretty cool. Shout out to Steam OS. It’s totally free, designed/optimized from the ground up for your steam catalog, and completely compatible with your preexisting Xbox 360 controllers. You can spring about $100ish dollars for a copy of Windows 7 or 8. But, Steam OS plays games much more stable and with less draw on your system resources. As a side note, the integrated graphics card on this APU is the most powerful integrated GPU’s on the market. It is a few years out of date and may struggle to run 2014 games on anything but the lowest settings. However, the PC should still run almost all games at 720p on medium settings (so it will look about as ugly as the graphics on the new Xbox/PS4 which only run at 720p max). With all of the money left over, you can spring for a dedicated GPU in the future to keep your machine relevant. You should probably also upgrade to 8 GB of Ram as well. Without further adieu, let’s examine our parts for the Custom PC Build for the Cheap Gamer.
