How to Use DVD Ripper for Mac

A software guide on how to rip a DVD on your Mac using 4Media DVD Ripper for Mac.

This tutorial will teach you how to rip a DVD into the following formats on your Mac: AVI, MP4, MOV, DivX, MPEG, ASF, and WMV formats.

Step 1: First you need to Install DVD Ripper for Mac

Step 2: Insert your DVD Movie

After your DVD movie is mounted run DVD Ripper for Mac. The software auto detects the movie and will load it automatically. If it does not auto detect it you can manually Add it usind the ADD DVD button shown below:

Step 3: Set the format you wish to convert to

After the DVD loads choose which chapters you want to rip and select the profile option from the drop down list in the general tab.

You can adjust the settings for the video in the Advanced tab. Change the bit rate, duration, Start Time, Video Size.

You can also preview the chapters in the built in player. This will also allow you to capture screen shots of your favorite scenes.

Step 4: Select the Filename and destination folder on your hard disk

Click the browse button and navigate to the path where you want to save it. Pick your filename and enter it on the Output Filename box as shown below:

Step 5: Time to Rip and Convert

When you are happy with the setting click on the Convert button to begin the process. When the conversion is complete is will show you the status and you can then click the Open Button to browse the converted files. See below:

Now that the DVD has been ripped you can then transfer it to the player of your choice that you choose earlier. If it's an iPod, load up iTunes and add the video and sync it up to your iPod.
