Review of Cheetah DVD Burner:
Cheetah DVD Burner |
"Cheetah is a basic DVD burning applications that supports backing up data to CD or DVD discs." |
Cheetah DVD Burner is a light application which gets the job done fast and in style. The interface is sleek and the design is well developed, so all the options available are easy to find. The application can create data discs, video DVDs, MP3 discs, burn ISO images, create bootable CD/DVDs, erase data from a disc, burn AVI or WMA to DVDs, create audio CDs and many others. Among them, this decent Blu-Ray PC software piece can create WMA discs, create ISO images and burn BIN/CUE discs.
Cheetah DVD Burner has a quite large palette of features, as you can already see, and all of the processes are done step by step. Most of them actually are done in three steps: choose the process you want, add the data and adjust the settings, such as the burning speed or disc name, and let the program do its job.
With Cheetah DVD Burner the customers can copy data from one disc to another, and this is really easy to do if you work on a system with two writing devices. Copying data from discs is easy to do and takes only a two-step process. You just need to choose the source drive and define the path. If the target drive is not specified, the program will copy data on your hard disk. We have rated Cheetah one of the best DVD burning software apps for 2012.
Cheetah DVD Burner can also create ISO files. You do this by selecting the data disc option in the Start and then save the file as ISO from the File menu.
The program provides a DVD disc writing option as well, which is obviously a good feature every program of this kind should have. DVD discs are more and more popular and important nowadays and developing such a program without this feature would not be very a smart decision.
The option to erase data from discs is quite basic and works just fine. It allows flexible settings and gives the chance to perform a quick erase or a full erase. A quick erase will take less time, but it will be less effective as well. Go for a full erase if you plan to use the same disc for important processes later, such as a Windows installation. Performing a full erase will also ensure data from discs are prone not to be recovered.
The program allows the user to perform a data check after the burning process is finished. Finalizing the sessions and testing the burned disc is also possible with Cheetah DVD Burner. You can keep track of the burning date by deselecting the “Use the Files Original Date” option. This will add the burning date to the disc.
Though the program is very easy to use, thanks to its simple interface, if you encounter problems during using it, the support on the webpage is great. You will get a step-by-step tutorial on how to perform all the processes and you can also contact the developer on its e-mail. You can also write them by post, as they also provide you with an official address. There is also a FAQ section on the page, which is also very helpful.
If you are simply looking for a straight up 'burning' application then this is a good choice. Really there is nothing to get super excited about here because it is basically a meat and potatoes type of software that will get the job done. One thing I can get excited about is the ability to Burn to DVD discs since there are not that many options at the moment that will write to DVD media. Other than that like I mentioned before if you need something burned to a CD/DVD or Blu Ray then this is a good choice and it does not use up too many system resouces.
