When I was first introduced to DVD Ranger I thought that it was just another DVD Burning app with all the basic functions you would expect from a DVD Burner app. As I was testing the software I thought that it all looked familar to other apps on the market. However after 4 successful burns where I did a straight up DVD copy of a movie, a DVD conversion to MP4 for my iPod, a DVD Folder from my backup archive burn to a blank DVD, and a few DVD movies to a blank Blu Ray I started to wonder who these developers were. In my research I found out that PixByte (the makers of DVD Ranger) are the official developers for this type of software that you see in other apps that are similar. They have the best video quality addon called PhysxTech (which they don’t give to other developer)s that is basically a video upconverter. So by using this software you are supporting the official development staff and company that supports it. And better yet DVD Ranger cost less compared to the competitiors which again is the same code just made to look different.
What Makes DVD Ranger Totally Unique compared to the other guys?
First off, what makes DVD Ranger unique is the new HotFix Manager and their new Physxtech technology. DVD copying applications will never look the same after you try the new DVD-Ranger. Packed up with two powerful features, the DVD-Ranger outshines any competition. The HotFix Manager is a unique utility that allows you to create HotFix databases that are used by the DVD-Ranger for copying even the newest DVD releases, without requiring any updates. In addition, the Physxtech enhancements beats all image quality scores, using a complicated algorithm during the recompression process.
With more than 8 years experience in delivering highly secure and readily available revolutionary recording and copying applications, no one knows more about DVD copy than Pixbyte Development. DVD-Ranger is comprehensive, advanced copying software for video DVD backups on any device. DVD-Ranger was created in order to maximize the DVD burning and copying experience, while adhering to strict international copyright laws.

Using their support system is probably is weak link in this software. While their software gudes, manuals and FAQ’s are useful for the specific problems that they have identified there is no way to get in contact with support personel via eMail or phone. They do offer a Forum where users can discuss individual problems and they do have two moderators that check and offer workarounds. But I’m more traditional in when I have an issue I would like to talk with someone about my problem and not try to dance around others issues hoping that I have the same issue. But really I have had limited problems with this software to date and have not really had to rely on support at all. DVD-Ranger is a pretty solid software from top to bottom and the majority of users should not need to contact support.
The neXt Tech feature is a one of a kind in this market. No other copy software has this feature where copy updates are done in a collaborative effort from all the users using the software. This feature alone takes care of not being able to copy a particular movie because it has new encryption. Anything is possible with neXt Tech and the users are the reason.
